Natalie had her second week checkup today. The goal was to be back to her birth weight of 8 pounds 6 ounces but our little one tipped the scale at 8 pounds 9 ounces so she is right on schedule and then some. It was also nice to see that our little vomit day from last week didn’t hinder her growth. She also got longer and her head grew in size so she got a good report.
I sat this one out as we have our weekly meeting at work on Tuesday and I also had another appointment to keep in-town so Tiffany’s mom went with her to assist. I can’t say that I am disappointed that I missed the foot stick where they draw blood, I’m sure that was a big hit.
Things have been going smoothly on the home front. Natalie appeared to be eating better and that was confirmed with her weight today. We’re still trying to hammer down her sleep schedule, she’s a bit of a night owl, keeping Tiffany up past 10. It’s not a big deal now, but when she goes back to work, that would present a problem.
Some things that Natalie currently enjoys doing are pooping and pulling her hat down over her eyes. Speaking of the pooping, I’m not a fan of changing her diaper. It’s not just because of what’s in the diaper, which is always a sight, but because she screams while she’s getting her diaper changed. As soon as the air hits that butt the tears start flowing and she starts kicking which is always fun, trying to keep her foot out of the poopy diaper. Personally, i would want to get whatever that is that comes out of her away from my body as soon as possible, but I guess the cool breeze is just too much for her. Go figure.
